A magical city

Being in Italy for almost a year, has given me the oportunity to visit and discover a lot of incredible places. But one of the places I like everyday a bit more is definitely the city of Trento. Maybe is the clean air (the city has considerably low leves of air pollution), maybe is the view of the mountains surrounding the city, or maybe is the mix of cultures where you feel you are in Italy but at the same time, you feel not in Italy but in a indescribable european magical town. There is something different in Trento.

Trento has been awarded the title of Best Place to Live in Italy for a couple of years, and when is not the winner, it's still on the top ten. The city is safe, environmentally friendly, clean, and full of history. For nature lovers, Trento offers beautiful trails, ski routes, the Dolomites, lakes, and everything you need to practice any outdoor activity that you choose. The city is full of life, you can go from an antique castle to the high technology science museum to streets full of art. For example, look at this:

This is Via Belenzani in the heart of the city of Trento. The street is full of buildings and palaces decorated with beautiful frescoes dating back to the 16th century. This picture is of Case Rella, for me one of the prettiest.

You just need to take a walk around the city to see these works of art, which look a bit unreal surrounded by bars and shops and fashion stores.

Maybe the night life is not so wild, maybe there are no huge shopping malls. But you don´t need them. You find a little bit of everything, excellent restaurants where you can eat from your classic italian pizza to sushi or german food or a late night kebap. Bars and wineries everywhere, some of them with a nice selection of craft beers (imported and local). High fashion stores or weekly street market, there is something for everybody.

But I think that what makes it more special, is that the people of Trento are educated and open minded. I mean, there will always be unpleasant people in every city of the world, but, in general, the people in Trento are kind, warm and polite, and a reflection of the city itself: a bit of old tradition, a bit of taste for the future. Or, maybe it's the air...
